Why we've joined The Pallet LOOP.

Why we've joined The Pallet LOOP.
Why we've joined The Pallet LOOP.

The Pallet LOOP has been created to solve the perennial problem of pallet waste in construction.

An innovative and service-orientated reuse model, built on the principles of circularity, The Pallet LOOP has the potential to reduce CO2 emissions by 40% on average and take 250,000 tonnes of pallet waste out of the supply chain – reducing our carbon footprint and helping reduce waste costs for our customers and end users.

The Pallet LOOP also has advantages for every merchant, distributor, contractor and housebuilding company.

Rather than you having to pay to dispose of pallets, The Pallet LOOP will pay you up to £4* for every green pallet you return – that’s up to £200 for every load of 50 green pallets! The Pallet LOOP can also pick up white pallets (charges apply).

The pallet problem

The pallet problem
The pallet problem
  • The UK construction industry uses around 20 million new pallets a year
  • Approximately 90% of these are currently disposed of as waste
  • Standard pallets typically use 15kg of wood – so for 100,000 pallets, around 1500 trees are cut down
  • Current practice of ‘deliver, distribute, discard’ needs to become ‘recover, repair, reuse’
